To create your NissanConnectSM account, you'll need a corresponding Canada NissanConnect Portal account. How long does it take to create a NissanConnectSM account?
Enrolling is quick, and easy. I'm having trouble connecting my NissanConnectSM App to my vehicle. What can I do?
I’m experiencing problems connecting the NissanConnectSM App with my vehicle’s non-navigation audio system while connected via Bluetooth®. What can I do?
- Open the NissanConnectSM App and sign in using your Canada NissanConnect Portal account credentials, or select "Demo" mode or "Use as Guest" mode.
- Turn the vehicle ignition off and restart the vehicle and/or toggle Bluetooth® off and then on again using the audio system Bluetooth® menu.
I’m experiencing problems connecting the NissanConnectSM App with my vehicle’s navigation audio system while connected via Bluetooth®. What can I do?
- Open the NissanConnectSM App and sign in using your Canada NissanConnect Portal account credentials, or select "Demo" mode or "Use as Guest" mode.
- Press the APPS button on your audio system, then press the My Apps button on the screen to connect.
Can I use Text Messaging Assistant with any Smartphone?
Text Messaging Assistant requires a compatible smartphone - please see nissan.ca/bluetooth for compatibility. "Send Text" capability is currently only enabled for compatible Android® phones. Compatible iPhone® and Android® phones can use Bluetooth® text-to-voice technology to have texts read out loud.Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System
I'm having trouble using my iPhone® to listen to incoming text messages.
After the initial connection of the iPhone®, find your vehicle’s Bluetooth® name (e.g. My Murano) under the Bluetooth® option in the Settings menu on your iPhone. Selecting the (i) icon will display an option for "Show Notifications". Turn this ON. Disconnect and reconnect the iPhone with the vehicle by either turning Bluetooth® off and on again on your phone or turning the power off and on again on your phone. Incoming text messages should now be received by the vehicle.
I'm having trouble using my Android to send and receive text messages.
Please refer to nissan.ca/bluetooth to determine if your Android® smartphone is compatible with this service. If it is compatible, we recommend the following: after pairing your Android®, a pop up message for "MAP request" may display. Make sure you check the "Don’t ask again" box and press "OK". You may also see a pop up message for "Contacts request" for phonebook access. Allow access to enable Text Messaging Assistant.

What NissanConnectSM functions are limited when driving?
Driver distraction regulations may cause certain functions to be unavailable while driving. For example, keyboard entry is only available when the vehicle is stationary.
Can I type while driving?
No, the keyboard is locked out while driving for safety. However, you can use voice response and customizable pre-loaded responses.
Which apps are included with NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps?
The list of currently available apps can be viewed in the 'Manage My Apps' section of the NissanConnectSM web portal or NissanConnectSM App. For a list of apps compatible with your specific vehicle model, model year, and head unit see the Package Specs section of the NissanConnectSM website.
What features will my NissanConnectSM system include?
Do I need to download certain apps on my smartphone before I can use them with my NissanConnectSM system?
The 'Manage My Apps' section of the NissanConnectSM Web Portal, and the NissanConnectSM companion app will display a smartphone icon next to any apps that need to be downloaded from your app store.NissanConnectSM Login & Registration
Can I use NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps services while driving?
Yes, all NissanConnectSM Mobile Apps are available while the vehicle is in motion, but certain functions may be limited to prevent driver distractions. Keyboard entry, for example, is only available when the vehicle is stationary.
Will location-based apps work on NissanConnectSM systems without Navigation?
Location-based apps will not be available on vehicles without NAV. Apps with POI functionality—such as Facebook—will still be available, but the POI component of that app will not work. [*]
How many Google® Send-to-Car destinations will my navigation save?
Your vehicle will show the 50 most recent destinations sent via Google® Send-to-Car. If you have more than 50 destinations, the oldest will drop off as new destinations are sent to your vehicle.POIS powered by Google® & Google® Send-To-Car
Is SiriusXM® All Access available on all vehicles equipped with satellite radio?

Should I be concerned about personal data security when connecting my smartphone to my NissanConnectSM system?
The NissanConnectSM system will not access personal information stored on your smartphone, such as the address book.
Does NissanConnectSM retain my billing information?
No personal billing information is stored in your NissanConnectSM system.
Does NissanConnectSM Mobile Apps store any personal data in the system?
It temporarily stores session information, but removes the data the next time you log in to your NissanConnectSM system.

What is NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®?
NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM® is a new feature for Nissan owners that enables them to to access information, stay connected to their vehicle, and get assistance when it’s needed.
Which Nissan model vehicles have the NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM® system?

Is any additional software or hardware needed in order to use NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®?

How does Remote Door Lock/Unlock work?
Customers can lock or unlock their vehicle from the NissanConnectSM Services Web Portal or Mobile App from any location. Sixty (60) seconds after Remote Unlock is initiated, the vehicle's doors will automatically re-lock. A PIN is required for this feature.
How does Remote Flash Lights work?
The Remote Flash Lights feature lets you flash your NissanConnectSM Services vehicle's lights for about 30 seconds, using the NissanConnectSM Services Web Portal or the Mobile App. A PIN is not required for this feature.
How does Remote Flash Lights & Sound Horn work?
This service activates the vehicle's hazard lights and sounds the car alarm for around 30 seconds. A password or PIN is not required for this feature.

Is there a trial for NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®?
Yes. Vehicle owners who purchase or lease an equipped new Nissan vehicle are eligible to enroll in a trial subscription Service Plan of NissanConnectSM Services for service for up to six months from the date of purchase or lease. To receive the trial subscription, customers must enroll in NissanConnectSM Services through the Canada NissanConnect Portal or NissanConnectSM Services Mobile App for iOS or Android.[*]
Is a credit card required for the trial offer of NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®?
Credit card information is not required to activate the trial offer, but will be necessary for renewal.
How much does NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM® cost?
Customers can select from three package options to best suit their needs:
NissanConnectSM Services - $16.99 per month or $203.88 per year
NissanConnect SM Services Premium - $26.99 per month or $323.88 per year

Do I need a cell phone or tablet to be able to use NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®?

Will I be notified if remote commands, such as Remote Lock/Unlock or Remote Start, are successful?
How does Remote Start work?
Remote Start allows customers to start their remote start equipped vehicle's engine remotely from the NissanConnectSM Services Web Portal or Mobile App. The following conditions must be met for a vehicle to be started remotely:
- Vehicle doors must be closed and locked
- Hood must be closed
- Transmission must be in 'Park'
- Key fob cannot be in vehicle
- Brake pedal cannot be depressed
You are responsible for using Remote Engine Start and Remote Horn features in accordance with any laws, rules or ordinances in effect in your vehicle’s location. Remote Engine Start/Stop not available on all models.
What is a Boundary Alert?
A Boundary Alert sets a geographical driving boundary that drivers need to "stay within" or "keep out" of. If the vehicle breaches boundaries when the Boundary Alert is active, an automated notification will be sent to the customer based on their notification preferences.Boundary Alert
What is a Valet Alert?
Valet Alert allows customers to monitor their Nissan after they hand over your keys. If the vehicle leaves an approximately 300 metre radius, an automated notification will be sent in accordance with notification preference settings. Customers can manage the Valet Alert feature via the Valet Alert button on the NissanConnectSM Services Web Portal or Mobile App.Valet Alert
What is a Curfew Alert?
A Curfew Alert allows customers to establish windows of time when their vehicle should not be active based on time of day and day of the week. If the vehicle is operated outside these specified times, the customer will receive a notification based on their notification preferences.Curfew Alert
What is a Speed Alert?
A Speed Alert allows customers to establish parameters around the maximum speed they are comfortable with their vehicle being driven. Speed Alerts settings are selected by the customer and do not take into account established legal speed limits. If the maximum preferred speed is breached, the customer will receive a notification based on their notification settings.Speed Alert
What is Connected Search and how do I access it?
Connected Search is a feature drivers can use from their vehicles that allows them to search for Points of Interest using the Internet, providing them with the most accurate and up-to-date Points of Interest information. Connected Search can be accessed through the NissanConnectSM Services menu in the vehicle, which is located on the Info screen.Connected Search
What is Assisted Search and how do I access it?
Assisted Search is a feature drivers can use from their vehicles that allows them to connect to a live operator to find Points of Interest. The operator can provide location information and send directions to the vehicle's navigation system. Assisted Search is accessed by touching the headset icon on the menu screen or navigating to the NissanConnectSM Services menu in the vehicle (located in the Info screen) and choosing "Connect to Voice Menu." What is Destination Download and how do I access it?
Destination Download is accessed from the NissanConnectSM Services web portal or mobile app. Customers can search for various Points of Interest and then send them to directly to their vehicle's navigation system. What is Journey Planner and how do I access it?
Journey Planner allows drivers to map out road trips with multiple waypoints and send them to their vehicle's navigation system. Customers can create Journey Planner routes from the NissanConnectSM Services web portal. How does the Automatic Collision Notification feature work?
Automatic Collision Notification is a service that generates an automatic connection from the car to the NissanConnectSM Services Emergency Response Center when the vehicle has been involved in an accident severe enough to deploy the airbags. A specially trained agent will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to the vehicle location if requested, or if the occupant is unresponsive.

How does the Emergency Calling feature work?
If a customer is in a dangerous situation or in need of emergency services, the "SOS" button can be pushed to connect to a NissanConnectSM Services Emergency Response Center agent who will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to the vehicle location. How does the Roadside Assistance feature work?
If a customer is in need of Roadside Assistance, press the headset button on the navigation screen to connect to NissanConnectSM Services. Say "Roadside Assistance," and in moments you will be connected to a Roadside Agent who will be ready to dispatch roadside services to your vehicle location.

How does Stolen Vehicle Locator work?
In the event that a customer's Nissan vehicle is stolen, the customer should first alert the local police and file a stolen vehicle police report. Then they can contact NissanConnectSM Services via phone with the police report information and request that the Stolen Vehicle Locator service be initiated on their vehicle. NissanConnectSM Services will cease tracking after 14 days, or as soon as the vehicle location is known. For the customer's safety, the vehicle location will only be reported to law enforcement authorities. Customers can contact NissanConnectSM Services to check the status of an existing Stolen Vehicle Locator service, request a new Stolen Vehicle Locator service, or request an extension to an existing Stolen Vehicle Locator service.Stolen Vehicle Locator
What happens once the stolen vehicle's location is established?
When the stolen vehicle's location becomes known, NissanConnectSM Services will immediately contact the law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction where the stolen vehicle has been located and advise the authorities of the vehicle location. The customer's contact information will be provided to the law enforcement agency so that the customer can be contacted once the authorities have successfully recovered the Nissan vehicle. What is In-Vehicle Messaging?
In-vehicle messaging notifies customers about scheduled maintaince appointments and important information about their vehicles like warranty alerts. Customers can also opt-in to receive promotional offers in their vehicle.In-Vehicle Messaging
How does Alarm Notification work?
Customers will be notified if their Nissan vehicle security alarm has been triggered. Even if the customer is out of audible range of the alarm, a customer will be notified by email and/or text message, based on their notification preferences, if an alarm is triggered.Alarm Notification
